SO excited to see D.C. native Ari Lennox come back from her musical hiatus with this beautiful song and video.

I can't wait for her new EP "Ariography" to come out, I've listened to her first one, "Five Finger Discount", about a bajillion times and have been craving more. You can still download that one for free {here}.

Snapping Streetstyle At The Roots Picnic + Weekend Fun #PhillyPhrolicking

On Saturday I snapped a few street style pictures for Rockin' That Bling, the jewelry blog I co-run with my sister, while hanging out with some friends from D.C. who were #phillyphrolivanting for the weekend. What an awesome day! As stated before street style is probalby my favorite type of photography to shoot. The natural lighting, chasing after a stylish subject that catches your eye,  meeting new people. It's such a rush! I was especially excited to try out the 85 mm f/1.4D lens I rented from BorrowLenses.com and OH.MY.GOSH. The quality of the photos were amazing! Look at that bokeh! Puts my kit lens to shame. This lens even takes amazing pictures at night! It's mine for the next four weeks and I can't wait to play around some more with it!

YUNA

It's kind of a funny story how I came across discovering musical talent Yuna. A couple months ago I saved the picture below off of tumblr and had been curious about who this person was, wondering if she had a blog of some sort, as the outfit she was wearing had my name written all over it. I needed to know who designed the scarf and bag and wanted a tutorial on the head wrap. I later found out the bag was Alexander Wang but couldn't find any other information about the outfit. A couple months later I came across Yuna's  stunning album cover advertised on the side of a bus and immediately recognized the face I had saved a couple months prior.  As I iTuned her music I was pleasanly surprised by the soulful, sweet melodies that floated out my computer stereo. I will definitley be on the lookout for a live show, hopefully she will be performing in Philly sometime in the near future. 

My favorite tracks are "Lullabies", "Remember My Name,"and "Live Your Life."

Solange In The House

Went to see Solange in concert a couple weeks ago at Union Transfer here in Philly and was pleasantly suprised at her talent as a vocalist and performer! Her stage presence compliments her whole vibe, care-free and fun, and I couldnt help but giggle when she would spontaneously bust a move mid song. Definetly a must see! 

Also, if you havent heard her new album True you are missing out in life. Get back on that good foot via iTunes or Spotify!

In other news, I'm starting the Daniel's fast tomorrow, which means no meat, dairy, wheat or processed food for the next 21 days! Ahhh! Pray for me, I'll be posting details on that soon.

New single "Losing You" by Solange Knowles. Serious girl crush on this chick! The video was shot in Cape Town, South Africa and directed by Melina Matsoukas. Amazing styling by Ty Hunter (loving the mixed prints and pant suits!).

Musical Goodies: Lianne La Havas
